After a bit of a struggle we've finally got our interview with Tom Clark from Jarcrew for you.
What made you join a band?
A combination of factors. Boredom, love of music, to pull girls (didn't work), escapism, to have fun.
What bands have inspired you to be in a band?
Black Sabbath, Fugazi, Mogwai, Stooges, Jesus Lizard, Beatles, Nirvana, Talking Heads, .....and many more.
Is there a band that you've tried to copy?
No not really, we have just fused many influences to form our own sound.
Have you been in any other bands?
Yes, the Septic Eyeballs they didn't last long.
Where did you all meet?
At school.
How long have you been together?
About 4 years now.
Do you all get on fine or are there moments when you want to kill each other?
There are some moments when we want to kill each other but someone usually steps in and prevents bloodshed.
What's your favourite band?
The Beach Boys.
What's your favourite song by you?
Sad French Death Metal. I never get bored of playing it and it always gets the crowd going.
What's your favourite song by another band?
The Jesus Lizard - "More Beautiful Than Barbie"
What's your favourite album? (yours or someone elses)
Bjork - "Vespertine"
Where's the best venue that you've been to? (you don't have to say Exeter just because its true)
King Tuts in Glasgow. Great food, great sound, great people. Exeter is a close second!
Where have been the best fans?
Birmingham and Bath have always had the best responses. I don't know why.
What's the worst position you've been in with the law?
A 7 day producer!
What's the best Country that you've toured in?
The UK because we haven't toured any other countries.
What advice would you give to people starting a band?
Don't let people influence your music or tell you what to do. Have confidence as individuals and as a band and just enjoy it.
Why did you choose to be in a band then any other job?
Because its the best job in the World. Simple as that.
Are there any small bands out there that you think we should look out for?
Kill Kenada, The Murder of Rosa Luxembourg, Les Flames, Sons of Thunder.
Is there a annoying question that you always get asked?
What's your favourite porn film.
Finally and most importantly do you like cheese?
No
